Minnie was
born January 29, 1859 in Warren, Ohio. She was the daughter of Elisha
G. and Clara C. Booth. Her father was a banker and the family home
was at Woodward and Henry Streets.
Minnie Booth was an active clubwoman and a philanthropist of note
in Detroit. She was a participating member of: The 20th Century
Club, Women Independent Voters Association and The Civic Pride Association.
She was a charter member the Salvation Army Auxiliary. Minnie served
on the Board of Directors of the Detroit Children’s Home.
She was a member of the D.A.R. and the U.S. Daughters of 1812.
Miss Booth was a musician and a member of the Tuesday Musical Association.
Her work in the women’s suffrage movement was extensive. She
was known for her many charitable works. Upon her death, her estate,
distributed more than a million dollars to Detroit charities.
Minnie Booth died July 16, 1929 at the age of 70.
